What does the Bible say about anxiety ...
Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139:23-24
Therefore, do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ ...
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:31,33
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside still waters,
he restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me:
your rod and your staff they comfort me.
Psalm 23:1-4
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life....God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16; Romans 5:8
God is gentle and compassionate. God knows your situation and will be compassionate to you if you reach out to Him. God sent His Son Jesus to be crucified, as the ultimate sign of His love for you.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..... As it is written: "None is righteous, no, not one."
Romans 3:23,10
We are all broken. The Bible calls your brokenness sin. Sin is your state of being separated from God and results in all kinds of evil actions. It also causes you to be unnecessarily anxious, and so selfish that others are hurt by your anxiety.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord..... But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God..... For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
Romans 6:23; John 1:12; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
God can make you right. Salvation is a free gift, obtained only through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. No matter how hard you try, your life will never be good enough to earn eternal life. Neither will you ever be too bad to be able to believe in the Name of Jesus.
