A. Prayer Hand

Prayer is foundational, providing guidance, power, and resources for discipleship. 

"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving." - Colossians 4:2

1. Adoration  (Thumb - touching all)

The importance of Scripture as the authority and guide in all aspects of life and discipleship is stressed. (See Word Hand)

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." - 2 Timothy 3:16

2. Confession  (Fourth finger)

Disciples are trained in such a way that they can then disciple others, perpetuating a cycle of spiritual multiplication. (Multiplication)

3. Thanksgiving  (Third Finger)

B. Word Hand

Discipleship involves spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.

"And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man." - Luke 2:52

1. Hear the Word of God  (Fourth Finger)

2. Read the Word of God  (Third Finger)

Identifying and nurturing potential leaders is a priority.

"He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ." - Ephesians 4:11-12

3. Study the Word of God   (Second Finger)

Accountability within discipleship relationships fosters growth, integrity, and faithfulness.

"Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." - Proverbs 27:17

4. Memorize the Word of God   (First Finger)

Being part of a community is essential for spiritual growth and support. (Fellowship - Wheel Illustration)

"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." - Hebrews 10:24-25

5. Meditate on the Word of God  (Thumb - touching all)


A commitment to lifelong learning deepens understanding of God and effectiveness in ministry.

"Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen." - 2 Peter 3:18
